Stablehand!

OH MY GOD. Today I just got the best idea ever.

(Okay, maybe not quite. But I do think this could be seriously awesome.)

Anyway, three things I've really liked doing recently are playing with Bad Translator and interpreting its odd, nonsensical aphorisms, asking Cleverbot to tell me all about its own crazy version of Homestuck, and looking for awkwardly-phrased or just plain inscrutable questions on Answers.com. Today, I just had a brilliant thought: why not combine all three of those things together to tell a story?

I also randomly realised yesterday that the word "stablehand" could be a pun and might make a good nickname for the main character of something, and I think this just might be it. (Stablehand as in "barn cleaner", and stablehand as in "unwavering fists". Get it?)

I'm sort of thinking that in terms of premise, this will be a little like a prequel to Tyrian, though in terms of setting, the geography and political divisions and all that might be different. I'm also sort of thinking I might recycle some of the human characters I was thinking of using in Dinostuck into this story as main characters because they somehow kind of fit with it, although I'm probably going to change their designs/details a little between the two stories.


So yeah. I know I'm kind of swamped with stories right now what with Buffet Breakfast, my still-unfinished Homestuck v9 comic thing, Dinostuck CS, and now this, but I'm kind of eager to see what I could do with this. I'll fiddle around with my three sources I mentioned above a bit this week, and maybe try to start the story next week or something. When I do, it will be hosted on my blog, Sangkara.tk, though I'll still post concepts and similar stuff here.

Oh, and another thing I wanted to mention is that I'm thinking this would have a more variable, less rigid art style than what I usually do, possibly even with many different media depending on what I feel like when I actually get to drawing it. We'll see.
